Miley Cyrus may be stepping out with new boyfriend Justin Gaston these days, but she told Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell that’s there’s one man for her – on- and off-screen father Billy Ray Cyrus.

“Dad gets Parent of the Year,” Miley told Nancy. “He’s my best friend.”

But Billy Ray has made room for 20-year-old Justin, telling Nancy he has “a whole lot more trust” in the mature model and former “Nashville Star” contestant.

“I like him a lot,” he said. “As a matter of fact, he went on a tour with me last week. We wrote some songs and just played a lot of music. He’s got a great heart.”

While Miley played it coy, she said her dad has welcomed her friends with open arms.

“He loves all my friends,” Miley said evasively. “They all think of him as their own dad, so that’s really cool.”

Still, she admitted that things were going well with her new guy.

“It’s very good,” she said. “I’m very, very happy.”

“He’s very cute, by the way,” Nancy added.

“Thank you very much, I think so, too,” Miley smiled.

But when it comes to “Hannah Montana,” Miley’s was the one setting the record straight after her dad may have mislead Nancy.

Though Billy Ray told Nancy that Hannah may go off to boarding school if the show goes for a fourth season, according to Miley, he had her fooled.

“He is the biggest brat. He is lying to you completely,” she said.

But one thing Billy Ray wasn’t lying about was wanting to spend time on new acting roles – and less on “Hannah.”

“I may go on a little different direction,” he told Nancy. “I’m a team player. If you need me, I’ll be there. But … I think it gives Miley a little bit of breathing room, too.”

As for Miley’s next big project? Getting her driver’s license at the end of the month when she turns 16.

“It’s like riding a horse, it’s all the same,” she said. “If you know how to ride a horse, you can definitely drive a car.”
