Emma Roberts was born into a Hollywood family, so she always knew that Hollywood would be in her future! Emma’s dad is actor Eric Roberts, and her aunt is Julia Roberts.

I think everyone was just kind of anticipating it,” she told MTV. But even though they’re all in the biz, they don’t talk about it much when they’re together. “We don’t really talk about that aspect of work. I don’t see them often, so we just catch up on personal lives.

Emma also talked about staying out of trouble. She doesn’t dig the Hollywood scene and opts to hang out with her own group of friends. “I have my own group of friends. We do our own thing.

With several movies hitting theaters next year, Emma certainly has been busy…

Hotel for Dogs is set to hit theaters in January, 2009. This family film is based on the book by Lois Duncan, and Emma stars orphan Andi. Andi and her brother Bruce (Jake T. Austin) are living with a pair of nightmare foster parents: wannabe rockers (Lisa Kudrow and Kevin Dillon). The kids begin to rescue stray dogs, and in the process, they end up finding a home for themselves.

Lymeline will follow, scheduled to be released in April, 2009. Set in the late 70’s, Lymelife is a unique take on the dangers of the American Dream. This funny, sad, violent and sometimes tragic look at first love, family dynamics and divorce weaves an intricate tapestry of American life during a time of drastic economic and emotional change. Emma plays the role of Adrianna Bragg in this film.

The Winning Season is a comedy that follows a has-been coach who is given a shot at redemption when he’s asked to run his local high school’s girls basketball team. Emma plays Abby in the film, which has yet to reveal a release date.

So what’s next for Emma? She would love the opportunity to work with director Sofia Coppola and Natalie Portman and she wouldn’t mind more television roles either, perhaps on Grey’s Anatomy or on a possible teen version of Sex and the City!
